THE LETTER LIBRARY
Find your
kind of light.
The same word can feel completely different in a different build. Choose a lighting direction, then think about finish, size and the surface behind it.
Front-lit channel letters
Light shines through a translucent face. A familiar choice for a storefront that needs to read clearly after dark.
02Halo-lit channel letters
Solid faces sit forward from the wall. Light escapes behind them, tracing each letter with a reflected glow.
03Front & halo-lit letters
An illuminated face and a wall halo bring both visibility and depth. Plan the two light effects together.
04Trimless channel letters
A clean face edge without a traditional visible trim cap. Especially worth exploring for a close-up view.
05Non-illuminated letters
Dimensional metal or acrylic lettering makes its mark through shape, shadow and finish.
At a glance
| Build | Where light goes | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Front-lit | Through the letter face | Face colour, stroke width, even illumination |
| Halo-lit | Onto the wall behind | Wall texture, standoff, contrast |
| Front & halo | Face and wall | Balance between both effects |
| Trimless | Depends on build | Face-edge construction and service access |
| Non-illuminated | No internal lighting | Daylight, finish, external lighting |
Trimless describes an edge construction; it does not specify a lighting direction.
